I was wondering if a couple who both have Developmental Disabilities can get married and have kids or is it more of a hassle and would cause problems. My girlfriend and I both have Autism Spectrum disorder, in the future when we are both ready, we may want to have children, is their a problem with both of us, and is there issues to deal with.

There are MANY MANY people with developmental disability out there who are married and have children. Having babies ALWAYS bring issues and hassle – disability or not. It is a HUGE responsibility. To have children or not will be your choice – as long as you fully understand what is involved.
Other users already suggest that you both have good support network. I agree with this. But really – ANY young family do need some kind of support anyway. Having babies (and later – as they grow older – young children) is a lifelong commitment!
Like Jobees said – have a real life baby dolls to look after is a good idea. so you get to know what it is like to have a baby that needs your constant attention. At least if you can not cope – whatever issues that come up will not affect a real child and you are aware of it and know how to handle it when the real baby comes.
I strongly encourage both of you to seek counselling on this subject.
There are plenty of support agences to help people rasie children. Tutoring services to help them with schooling.
Try looking after a real life baby doll first it will give you an idea at your capability to do it.
As long as you have family and friends and suport works to assisted you then it find.
The only thing you need to think about is the genetic implications of having children. Autism does have some hereditary components. You should go to a genecist first and find out about that.
As long as you have a good support network working with you l don’t see why you shouldn’t become parents… yes it may have it’s issues but with the right team behind you helping and supporting you all the way l believe if you want children go for it… l wish you boyh luck
Do mother earth and this a favor don’t.I suffer dearly from high fuctioning autism and I don’t allow myself to date because I happen to be a stupid nice nerd.I’m a real god exsample that Planned Parenthood exists.I even tried sterilization on myself.Abortion has helped made america a better place
