No, the only time a baby is affected by alcohol is if the pregnant mother drinks. Your sperm are not affected by alcohol consumption.

2 girls n bright as a button, not like their father lol
No, but mothers do.
I think both parents that drink do damage to the unborn fetus. I have a brother that has mental retardation and my mother and my step dad were drunks. He was born 7 months early. I have some disabilities too because of my mom’s drinking but they are not as bad as my brother.
I’m no expert but I think both parents should practice healthy diets, get exersize and drop any bad habits right before getting pregnant and certainly while pregnant. I have a brother in law and ex sister in law who both drank very heavily during her pregnancyand before. The oldest 2 girls had fetal alcohol effects and the youngest was born drunk. My sister in law drank vodka on the way to the hospital and the baby spent 3 months in the NICU. She has fetal alcohol syndrome. Anything can produce a baby with problems.Genetics, environment, accidents but when parents put drugs and alcohol into their systems and create a problem that could have been prevented it should be considered a crime an punishable by law.
Hope this helps
I don’t know of any research which would prove or disprove this, but the medical advice is that BOTH prospective parents should ensure that their physical health is good. If that means no alcohol – then so be it. What child wants an drunken dad, anyway?
I think that a father who is an alcoholic can produce a baby with developmental disabilities. The father who is an alcololic has the alcohol in their system already. In their blood, in their entire system. That is why an alcoholic has drastic body changes. The alcohol within their body deprives the body of natural progression as far as good development of the mind body and soul. Alcohol depletes the body of fluids, natural enzymes that inhance the development of the body, the development of a sound mind. Alcohol interupts the ability of the body to produce productive fluids within the body that would combat any foriegn materials that would disturb the reproductive system. The reproductive system is greatly interupted, greatly deprived, greatly harmed by the consumption of the drug alcohol. I am no doctor, this is just my personal opinion.
try moms not dads
Parents who are alcoholic , especially mothers who drink during pregnancy have a better than good chance of producing a child with fetal alcohol syndrome which can result in developmental delays or learning disabilities.
Yes, the genes that being carried by the sperms would be affected
i think that it may affect the baby after it is born
An alcoholic father will pass on his genetic pre-disposition to alcholism to the genetic makeup of the infant.
The mother’s body will pass on the developmental disabilities from different imbalances in her own body, alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, etc.
If both the parents have recessive genes, the child will still have some abnormalities at birth irregardless of the overall good health of the parents. You really can’t overcome genetics.
If a parent drinks too much prior to getting a woman pregnant- yes – it can have an impact on the quality of the genes that are passed on to the baby.
Just like a woman should start 6 months before getting pregnant getting her body in shape – so should the father. This means limiting alcohol, stop smoking, stop illegal drugs, eat well, etc.
Absolutely not, my father was an very well educated man and a top class sportsman and a schoolteacher, he was also an alcoholic.
He produced 3 very normal sons that are all doing well out of life, all 3 married, home owners and bringing up kids of their own, personally I am at home with the kids whilst my wife works simply because she can earn twice as much as me, as for my brothers, one is a very succesful mortgage broker and the other is in the Royal Marines currently training new recruits. Our Fathers drinking had no affect on our health or developement.
Yes!
Not for sure unless it is genetic, although drug addicts can produce babies that are addicted as soon as they’re born, I’m not sure if the same’s true with alcohal or not!
probably.my dad was an alcoholic and i have ADHD .
I wouldn’t think so.
close but not quite its the mothers who could drink a child to that point or worse death
You mean like Fetal Alcohol Syndrome? Only mothers can.
