Does anyone has any interesting insight of the corruption at the Division of developmental disabilities. Especially Mary Giorlando. She recently told me by phone that because I am the mother of 3 children with autism, I have depriving another family of receiving services. I was eligible to receive funds fr 2 of my severly autistic children. I received a letter indicating this from my case manager. Then after she left, Mary giorlando kept on stringing me along. She lead me to believe that I would receive the famiily support funds to assist my very needy children. Then the story changed. They approved my children for camp, with a one time cash subsidy and refused to give them the voucher that we have been waiting for, for over 2 years. Unfortunately, this is no more than a very sick sinister plot yo hurt me because I am the squeeky wheel. Let’s face it , no one like the squeeky wheel. Most people want you to just go away. If you know how I can deal with this issue , please contact me TKS

Your story sounds worth pursuing but the facts seem incomplete. Without knowing what information you provided, what the medical dx/history of your children is, a complete assessment of their needs and other pertinent information it is very hard to respond in a meaningful way. You sound understandably frustrated but that is usually not the way to get cooperation – people just react emotionally. Please try to present your needs in a complete and logical way to a case resource manager within the department. If you go online to DSHS.wa.gov you may be able to find some additional information. If that gets you nowhere, perhaps a well thought out presentation to your legislator would point you in the right direction. Good luck.
