I had to go to the doctor for a checkup and various immunizations before college. I wanted to also get tested for STDs. The thing is, I’m pretty sure I don’t have any (I’m not sexually active) but I don’t want any surprises like HPV from sharing lip gloss. Anyway, I went to the doctor last week for a checkup and I wanted to know what diseases the doctors check for.

They dont check for diseases they check for symptoms.
PS Tony you’re too excited.
A check up is to check if there is anything wrong with you!! The Doc may want to screen you wioth a blood test and an urine too!! Ask him/her for an STD screening too!!
He’d check your weight against the body mass index. Ask if you had any respiratory problems by making you go for a chest x-ray, you’ll probably get a tb test for tuberculosis. He’ll check you chloresterol levels, blood pressure, if you’re a young woman, probably do a pap smear but if you’re not sexually active perhaps not. He may check your breasts for lumps, although breast cancer is pretty rare in young people your age, although it’s not unknown. He may also give you a meningitis vaccine and hepatitis vaccines . And of course your booster and tetanus shots.
Then you’ll be ready to rock and roll and start school. Stay healthy, have a good year.
